Monotype Collage

Collage is a wonderful way to learn and try out what you know about color, composition, shape, texture, and the space created by those elements. Everything is impermanent until you glue it. Monotype provides direct, creative ways to generate collage materials and to work back into collages through the addition of color overlays and drawn marks.  This course includes instruction in both techniques and provides exercises to help you feel comfortable moving from one medium to the other.

Demonstrations include the monotype techniques of transfer drawing, fade rolls, texture making and stencil use and collage techniques of paper preparation, gluing, editing, and finished presentation.

This course is designed for all levels, those new to monotype and collage, or seasoned printmakers who want some fresh ideas for working with all those unfinished prints!
