Zea Mays Printmaking/Pulp Dreams: Papermaking at Home (Remastered)

Pulp Dreams: Papermaking at Home (Remastered)

Explore the amazing world of hand made paper! Learn a bit of the history of paper making and then dive into the vat and start pulling your own sheets of paper! Sheryl Jaffe and Elisa Lanzi guide you through all of the steps and materials you need to make gorgeous paper that can be used for printmaking, drawing, sculpture or as works of art on their own.  These two paper artists demonstrate how to make a mould and deckle, how to set up a paper making studio, and how to make paper from raw plant materials, store bought fibers and recycled papers. They expand on simple sheet formation with a myriad of ways to get creative with paper pulp, including pulp painting, wet collage and more.

You will need an open mind, a spirit for experimenting, a blender and a variety of things you probably have around your kitchen and/or garage. This hands on creative learning experience is geared especially to printmakers, art recyclers and those interested in sustainable art practices.
